Privacy Policy

This is a template written to match the product as built. Have it reviewed by a qualified professional before public launch, and update it whenever data handling changes.

The short version

• On-device tools (studio, meters, converters, editors, clean-up, visualizers) process audio in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
• AI features send only what they need to our AI providers, and the page tells you before you use them.
• With an account, your saved work is private to you (row-level security on every table and file).
• No advertising, no tracking cookies, no selling of data.

Chrome extension

• Tab audio is captured only after you choose to boost a tab, processed in memory and played back. It is never recorded, stored or transmitted.
• The extension reads the current tab's title, address and icon when you open it, to show which tab you're controlling. Hostnames are stored only if you turn on “Remember for this site”.
• Preferences, sound profiles and per-site settings are stored in Chrome's extension storage on your device. It makes no network requests and doesn't read browsing history.
• SoundBooster's use of information received through Chrome extension APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. No data is sold, transferred to third parties or used for any purpose other than boosting and adjusting the audio of tabs you choose.

AI features and the providers we use

• AI mastering instructions and music-video storyboards (Anthropic Claude): the text you type, the current mastering settings, basic facts measured from your song (duration, tempo, section energy) and, if you add one, your reference image. Audio is not sent.
• Voice control: uses your browser's speech recognition. In Chrome, speech is transcribed by Google's speech service. Only the resulting text is used by SoundBooster.
• Sound generation and AI voice isolation (ElevenLabs): your prompt, or the audio file you choose to isolate. SoundBooster doesn't keep the uploaded file.
• Images, music-video scenes and artist models (Replicate): your prompts; for artist models, the photos you upload after confirming they're of you. You can delete your artist model at any time, which deletes its weights on Replicate.
• Stem separation (our separation server): the file you choose to split. The upload is deleted when separation finishes and the stems within 30 minutes.
• Spotify links: we fetch only the public title and artwork through Spotify's oEmbed service. No audio is downloaded.

These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. We send only what each feature needs.

Accounts

• Without an account, projects, your library, presets and download history are saved in your browser (IndexedDB) and never leave it.
• With an account, we store your email, a hashed password (via our authentication provider, Supabase), and the projects, files, presets and download history you save. Every record and file is restricted to its owner.
• If you publish an artist profile, your username, artist name, bio, profile picture and links are visible to anyone. Share links give read-only access to one project to anyone with the link; you can turn them off at any time.
• We record the AI features you use (operation type and time) to enforce fair-use limits.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used — which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from and what device they use. IP addresses are anonymised, we don't use advertising features, and nothing about your audio or your files is ever sent to analytics. The Chrome extension contains no analytics at all.

• In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland analytics cookies are only set if you choose Accept on the cookie banner. If you decline, Google receives only cookieless signals that can't identify you.
• Everywhere else analytics is on by default. You can switch it off at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page, or with a browser extension that blocks analytics.
• Your choice is stored in your browser (local storage) so we don't ask again.

Google processes this data under its own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

Rate limiting

To prevent abuse of AI features by visitors without an account, we keep a short-lived counter per IP address in server memory. It isn't written to disk.

Your controls

• See what's stored and delete all projects, files and presets from Account Settings.
• Delete your account there too — this removes your projects, library, presets, profile and uploaded files.
• The extension's data can be viewed, exported and cleared from its settings page.
